At the weekend, the United Democratic Movement (UDM)
hosted a National Strategic Workshop at the Willow Park Conference Centre in Kempton Park
(Gauteng).
The UDM listened to the critical input of independent analysts after which the 50 workshop
delegates, from across the country, took stock of the status of the Party, looked at the
challenges encountered, debated solutions and mapped the way forward.
With eyes firmly on the 2009 General Elections, the workshop delegates engaged with the
social, economic and political status the country; the relevance of UDM policies, party
building, marketing strategies - it identified its strengths and weaknesses, its threats
and of course its abundant opportunities.
Plans for the UDM's 10th Anniversary Celebration on 29 September 2007 were discussed.
Delegates emerged from the workshop energised, ready for the challenges ahead and
empowered to spread the message of the UDM. They have gone back to their provinces to pass
this message forward; they will tell the UDM's members, and the South African electorate,
that the UDM is alive and kicking and ready to take the future into its hands. |
