Truman Prince case shows ANC's lack of commitment - media statement issued by UDM Spokesperson on Provincial and Local Government (9 June 2005)
The UDM is shocked and disappointed by the ANC’s half-hearted disciplining of Mr Truman Prince.

The ANC has once again proven that it can’t walk the talk. Their commitment to high political and moral standards is characterized by tough talk and little action. They pay lip-service to the rights and dignity of women and children, but refuse to act swiftly and fully when one of their own transgresses.

A six month suspension from the party, whilst he still continues in his job as municipal manager, is hardly a slap on the wrist never mind proper punishment. All of this amounts to a grave insult to the people victimized by Mr Prince and is a further signal to abusive men that such behaviour will be tolerated by the ruling party.
