UDM visits Gauteng- statement by UDM Secretary General (16 March 2004)

As part of the build-up towards the 2004 South African General Elections, the United Democratic Movement (UDM) will hold a provincial rally in Soweto at the Orlando Stadium, Gauteng.

As a party that proposes an additional 40 000 new police officers over a three-year period as well as a tougher stance against crime and corruption, the UDM has identified the Gauteng Province as the ideal place to unravel its strategy against these social evils and more. The Rally that will see members and supporters of the UDM from all regions converge at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on the 20 March 2004 will also be used as a platform to expatiate the UDM’s slogan: “TEN YEARS OF UNEMPLOYMENT UNDERMINES THE PEOPLE’S THE FREEDOM”.
