MEDIA RELEASE

MATRIC PAPER LEAKS: THE GUILTY MUST BE BROUGHT TO BOOK

MEDIA STATEMENT ISSUED BY KWAZI MPUMLWANA
UDESMO NATIONAL PRESIDENT

The United Democratic Students' Movement (UDESMO) strongly believes that anyone caught breaking the law must pay the price. Cheating during examinations, selling and buying examination papers are no exception.

The issue of leaked examination papers has been one-sided: seemingly only the learners involved will bear the consequences of their actions. UDESMO therefore calls upon the department of education and the media to look at the other side of the coin, A thorough investigation needs to be conducted by the department of education to find the culprit/s who could be from within the education department.

UDESMO also calls upon all our students, learners, educators and each and every South African Citizen to be vigilant and firm in the fight against crime and corruption. A good starting point would be to refrain from buying stolen goods whether it is jewelry or examination papers.
