UDM BACKS ESKOM'S SAFETY CAMPAIGN

MEDIA STATEMENT ISSUED BY MALIZOLE DIKO
UDM NATIONAL SPOKESPERSON

The UNITED DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT (UDM) stands with the parents of the burnt boys in their support of Eskom's safety campaign, and agrees with Eskom executive director Jacob Moroga that the existing safety awareness campaign must be intensified.

Three boys in Katlehong were severely burnt two weeks ago when a sub-station electricity supply box exploded.  Human life is a precious entity and humility must be shown when it comes to the preservation of that life.  The UDM would also like to express sympathy with the boys and their families and are glad to hear that they are recovering well.

We urge Government to ensure that general education concerning human safety is extended to the people.

We would also like to appeal to those who can help in any way, to please come forward with assistance, your support and concern could save lives.
