ROAD SAFETY OVER EASTER HOLIDAY

STATEMENT ISSUED BY UDM PRESIDENT BANTU HOLOMISA

 On the eve of the Easter weekend the UDM President Bantu Holomisa, has called on all South Africans to ensure that serious road accidents and deaths are avoided.

The UDM calls on all drivers to refrain from driving whilest under the influence of intoxicating substances or from commuting in unroadworthy vehicles. The UDM also reminds drivers to keep to the speed limits, obey road traffic signs and rules, and to be alert for pedestrians at all times. Furthermore, with the increase in the number of road users, the UDM calls on all road users to exercise patience and courtesy.

The President and all members of the UDM would also like to take this opportunity to wish all law enforcement officials good luck in their duties. Furthermore, the UDM urges the Minister of Transport, his department and all Provincial officials to keep our roads safe over this festive weekend.
