RENEWED VIOLENCE AT UDW

STATEMENT ISSUED BY SAM DE BEER, MP
UDM SPOKESPERSON FOR EDUCATION

The UDM is very concerned about the latest chaos and violence at the University of Durban Westville. Quite obviously the issues at hand was not resolved by the measures that might have been taken by the authorities.

UDM structures already made urgent proposals on how to address this crisis. The situation at this educational institution needs to be stabilised as a matter of urgency. Peace and order must return, so that students may continue their studies in an environment that is conducive to do so.

The UDM calls on Government to address this critical situation as a first priority, all role players must be brought together to resolve this burning issue.
