UNITED DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT

MEDIA RELEASE

THE DIRECTORS OF NAIL

STATEMENT ISSUED BY BANTU HOLOMISA as UDM PRESIDENT

Judging by recent media reports, the directors of NAIL have managed to ensnare themselves in quite a scandal. The UDM is disgusted to see such conduct, motivated by short-sighted avarice, occur in the name of Black Empowerment. If only a handful of individuals benefit from NAIL, then this organisation is no better than those of the Old Establishment. The aim of Black Empowerment is to narrow the gap between the haves and the have-nots. Unfortunately, the directors of NAIL appear to have a different agenda and are crass enough to pursue it under the guise of philanthropy.

The UDM calls for a public investigation into the matter. This situation demands transparency. Such cynical corruption must be rooted out at all cost.
